Returning to work and the difficulties you face...

Hello

We all here all the time from the conservative and lib dem coalition how we are all going to be better off in work.

Problem number one....

Trying to get a job when you've been taking time out to raise your children is hard.  I've applied for many jobs and nothing.  I use to work full time before I had my children and had a good work record.  I also have been doing voluntary work for the last 2 years to prove myself, update my CV and to get something recent on there.  All this I have done because I want to go back to work and not because I've been told to by the Job Seeker people (I'm not on benefits).

Problem number two....

Childcare for three is hard to find, I need a childminders that isn't prohibitively expensive and has space for three children (this is a huge task in itself).  Some childcare settings e.g. the schools after school club is more expensive for one hour for one child than what I would actually earn, if you times that by three children your well out of pocket.

So come on then people please tell me how it's done?

Thanks

Shhhhhhhhhh don't look now but I think spring may be here....... Finally!

Well hello,

Today we have sunshine to accompany the flowers that have started to show us that spring is definitely on it's way and hopefully here to stay.

I'm so pleased that it is finally getting to spring, winter really does get depressing after a while and it seems never ending at times.  We are hoping here for a good old bit of warm to burn off the bugs that are continuously circulating at the moment.  Pixie and  are still full of a cold and it just is not shifting no matter what we try.  Since September I have been helping out at school with the vain hope of getting on a teaching assistant course.  The course has been horrifically hard to pin down which has been saddening, however in the mean time I've loved working with the children.  We've even been on 2 school trips, had a visit from a life size dinosaur and had a great Christmas party.  I don't remember school being this fun when I went.

I'm currently working on new items of jewellery for my online shop check it out at:

I managed to peg out the washing today, I keep looking at my yard that has been neglected over the winter months and keep looking at what I need to do to clear it up and make it look a bit more cheerful.  I'm hoping to be able to sit out there and enjoy the warm weather over the summer months.

What have you been doing since the sun has been out?

Have fun
Dawn x
